First Night Together

The girl's first night together actually went quite well. They slept together and I think they felt safe. Emma adapted quite nicely to her new surroundings. Rick and I just stared at them all night and took it all in. They love their new boppy loungers....Thanks Krissy for the gift!!

Emma Gets to Come Home

Finally....our family is complete. Emma got to come home on 5/14/2009. The girls are finally home together.

Grandma's Visiting the Girls

The Grandma's are big fans of the girls. They just can't get enough of them. Good thing we have two to go around!!

Ella's First Bath

Ella got her first bath and she loved it. She needed a good bath after staying in the hospital for 12 days.

Ella Gets To Come Home

We got great news that Ella finally gets to come home. She got to leave on 5/12/2009. We thought she would be the one that would stay longer. Look how little she is in her car seat. I was so nervous to put her in it. She is 5lbs.

HAPPY MOMMY'S DAY TO ME

It is hard to believe that I am now a mommy. I just couldn't wait to spend the entire day with our little girls on Mothers Day. It was one of the best days of my life...even if they were still in the hospital. Daddy got me a diamond necklace that says "mom". It is beautiful. He actually said he snuck the girls out of the hospital to take them shopping..ha. The girls had a lot of visitors. Everyone knew that this day has been a long time waiting for us!!! I will never forget it.

One Week Old

The girls are one week old, or should I say one week new, today!! They are still in NICU with feeding tubes because they are still trying to learn how to suck, breath and swallow all at the same time. That is hard for preemies to do. They tire out easily. They are gaining weight and starting to hold their temps at a steady rate. It won't be long and they will get to come home. We are so in love with these little girls. I just can't get enough of them. I just want to stare at them all the time because they are so adorable. I have listed some of the girls' traits below:

EMMA:
-She likes to pull out her feeding tube!!
-She loves her paci...
-She is like her daddy and is gassey...
-She loves to stare at mommy when I feed her.
-She loves to chew on her little fingers.

ELLA:
-She loves to stretch.
-She loves her paci...
-She makes a squeaking noise when she wakes up and is hungry.
-She is a little piglet. She is doing great with her bottle feedings.
-She doesn't like her diaper changed.

And...of course...they are both night owls. They like to open their eyes and stay awake at night. We have a lot of loooooong nights ahead of us!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA AND ELLA

The day has finally arrived. Emma and Ella have met their new mommy and daddy!!! The girls were born via C-section on April 30th at 10:42 and 10:43am. They were 36 weeks exactly. Ella was the first one out and she was screaming her head off. Emma decided to do another flip and went breach after Ella came out and she floated up to the top of Jessika's uterus and was tough to get out. Ella weighed 4lbs13ounces and Emma weighed 5lbs2.5ounces. They both have blond hair. They are both in NICU and are doing well. They have both been little troopers. We are not sure how long they will be in NICU, but it will be a little while yet. Jessika is doing really well!!
